EDUCATION
Master of Arts in Applied Economics in 1988 and six more graduate economics credits from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business at Coral Gables, FL.
Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics ("Summa cum Laude") in 1984 from the University of Central Florida at Orlando , FL.
Associate of Arts degree ("Summa cum Laude") in 1981 from Seminole Community College at Sanford , FL.
I also completed a 3-credit graduate course in Educational Technology (EME 6426) in 1995 from Florida Atlantic University at Boca Raton , FL. and two courses in teaching students with disabilities in 2003 from the University of Southern Maine: Web Accessibility and Interactivity (EPA 500) and Introduction to Learning Technologies for Students with Disabilities (EPA 504). In May 2006, I was awarded a Certificate in Accessible Information Technology from EASI (Equal Access to Software and Information), which includes 15 CEUs from the University of Southern Maine.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Currently an Associate Professor at Broward Community College in Davie, FL, where I have taught full time since January 1992. Courses include Macro and Micro economics principles, Intro to Business, Quantitative Methods for Business (Statistics), Accounting Survey, Prealgebra, and Elementary Algebra. I developed and have taught online versions of our Principles of Macroeconomics and Principles of Microeconomics courses since January 1999, using the Blackboard/WebCT course delivery system.
I taught undergraduate and MBA courses at the University of Miami as a Grad Student (1985-1988), Lecturer (1990-1991), and Adjunct (1994-1997). Undergraduate courses included Principles and Intermediate Macro and Micro, and Public Finance. Graduate courses (MBA) included Essentials of Economic Theory, Managerial Economics, and Applied Economics. I also tutored MBA students in Quantitative Methods.
For two years (1988-1990), I was full time at Northeast Texas Community College. Courses taught included Macro and Micro Principles, Intro to Business, Principles of Management, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Microcomputers, MS-DOS, and BASIC Programming.
At Barry University (1986-1988) as an adjunct, I taught Economics Principles, Comparative Economic Systems, Business Statistics, Quantitative Methods for Business, and Precalculus for Business.
I also did adjunct work at Florida Atlantic University, where I taught Money and Banking (1993) and Applied Educational Technology (1997); Florida Keys Community College (1986-1987), teaching Economics, Accounting, and Advertising; and Nova-Southeastern University, where I taught Principles of Microeconomics in 1992.
