A
learning community is a group
of people who share common values and beliefs, are actively engaged in
learning together from each other. It is an innovative program for
enriching student success, invites faculty collaboration for linking or
integrating curricula. Cross-discipline classes offer students
and faculty connections to link learning activities and share classroom
assessment. The ESL/Reading/SLS department actively participates in
learning
communities. For Fall 2012, our Integrated Learning Community, "
Reading for Success," will be
offered fully online. Dr. Carole Comarcho will be teaching SLS1001 and
Dr. Reid will be teaching REA0017C.
Integrated Assignments for Fall 2012:
Students will complete 2 combined assignments including:
1. All About Us Presentation (Diversity and Propaganda).
2. Graphic Organizer Presentation on article, "Quintessential careers: How College is
different from High School."
