SPANISH CLUB

The purpose of the Spanish Club is to promote, beyond that which is studied in the classroom setting, an appreciation for and an awareness of the Spanish language, its literature and cultural influences and contributions to the United States generally, and Florida specifically. This goal is accomplished by allowing students to actively participate in meetings, festivals, theater, exhibitions, field trips, conferences, and work fairs. Additionally, the club will encourage participation through professional and/or academic networking experiences with prominent members of the Latin community. The Spanish Club will strive to maintain the overall piqued interest of students, while exposing them to the practical and marketable importance of learning the Spanish language. This club is being proposed in an effort to mesh interest in the Spanish Academic Program on South Campus with the increased interest of the student, so that the current program can be augmented and expanded beyond the two elementary levels being taught.
