- **IMPORTANT**: If
you want to improve your grade for Exam 2, then you must do the five questions
on THIS
version of the Exam 2 and turn them in at the beginning of class on
Thursday, July 22. This must be your individual work. Do
not work with someone else! I will use this as part of the grade for Exam
2. It is also available on the Tests & Quizzes
page.
Note:
The points indicated on the
questions are not necessarily the points that will be awarded (I have to work
that out).
- I have
posted Exam 3 from 2005.
I do not guarantee that the upcoming test will have the same type of
questions (although I expect to put some similar questions). I plan to post some
additional practice questions for Exam 3 on Thursday.
- If you need
tutoring help, you can get one-on-one tutoring from Heather Roth.
She is a teacher who has years of experience teaching this and other Math
subjects at college and universities. Her contact number is:
954-242-7567. There is a cost for this tutoring. I
do not receive any financial benefit from it. However, it may be helpful to
you. This is separate from the tutoring I provide during office hours and
that is provided in the Math lab.

Tests & Quizzes

Class notes for June

Notes page.
- Tutoring is available at the
Math Lab
(Bldg. 52, Room 203) and
Learning Resource Center in the Library (Bldg.
62, Room 135). The Math Lab hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. The
LRC is open on Friday (8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.) and Saturday (10:00 A.M. to 3:00
P.M.). Tutoring Labs are closed on school holidays.
- Extra-credit:
I have now
worked out an arrangement for extra-credit for the course. This will be
based on time spent studying in the tutoring lab. The details are as
follows:
Students may earn extra credit based on time spent in the Math
Lab as follows:
- For each full half hour
spent in the Math Lab working on this course you will receive 1 extra-credit
point (up to a maximum of 10 points per week). A
fraction of a half hour will not be counted as a half hour.
You must be there for at least 30 minutes.
- You
must sign in on the computers at the front of the Math Lab. Select this
course, so that the system records how long you were in. If you
do not sign out (when you are leaving), then that time will not count in
your favor.
I
STRONGLY recommend that you use these facilities, as they will increase
your chances of success in this course.
- Be sure to make use of the exercises on
www.interactmath.com. Choose any appropriate Brief Calculus
book and practice from the appropriate sections.
