Every fall I teach an Honors Public Speaking course. Speech and debate have long been favorite subjects of mine. In the past I have coached many successful debate teams at the at BCC (and at the University of Florida where I earned my Ph.D.). My doctoral degree is in speech and communications as well as higher education administration.
The primary goal in my class is helping students overcome their public speaking anxiety so that they are free to express themselves and their ideas effectively and clearly. My secondary goal is to demonstrate that even a speech class can be enjoyable! |
