HOMEWORK:  Usually, the odd numbered problems at the end of each section will be suggested for homework problems.  Homework is not used in calculating your average.  However, it is strongly suggested you do all the homework assigned.  Test directions and questions are very similar to homework problems.

LABS:  There will be approximately 5 lab assignments worth 100 points (total).  Due dates will be given by the instructor.  NO LATE LABS ACCEPTED!

TESTS There will be approximately (4) four tests and a final exam.  Tests are announced in advance and make-up exams are seldom given.

GRADING POLICY:  Your grade will be determined by adding your test scores, lab grades and final exam, then dividing by total possible points.  Grades may be viewed at http://webhome.broward.edu/~jcastill/.

THE FOLLOWING SCALE WILL BE USED:

A = 90-100      B = 80-89        C = 70-79        D= 60-69         F= BELOW 60

ATTENDANCE:  One of the necessary ingredients for being successful in mathematics is to be in class and listen attentively.  If you miss a class, you are responsible for any missed work.  Education is your responsibility!  If a failing grade in this class is unacceptable, then it is your responsibility to withdraw or change to audit before the final date that is listed in the catalog.  It is my policy not to withdraw or audit students who wish to avoid a grade.
