Rel 1240 New Testament

Course Description

REL 1240 is designed to introduce students to the New Testament (NT) through readings from an English Bible and to understand and appreciate the NT ethos. The course will also focus on the foundation, development and expansion of Christianity.

Methods of Instruction

Students meet weekly with the professor. The course is lightly enhanced through Blackboard, where students take tests and submit assignments and correspond with each other and the professor.

Tests and course organization: Students will have some brief open book chapter quizzes. You will have two tests during the term. The first (the mid-term) will cover the first seven chapters and the second (the final) will cover the remaining five chapters of the text book. Most of the questions from the tests will come from practice quizzes and the textbook. Course organization will be readings and practice quizzes, discussion postings, assignments, two exams and optional visits to religious sites.
