THE BCC ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB

All BCC Students, Faculty, and Staff are welcome to play. Because the team is a mix of BCC, and non-BCC members, they are no longer able to play on Central Campus. Currently, they are playing on the fields next to South Campus.

Never played? Have no clue what it is? Come on out and give ultimate a try! Our team has women, men, and players of all ages and skill levels. The philosophy of the game is about good sportsmanship and having fun.

HOW TO PLAY ULTIMATE
Ultimate is a team sport that is played on a football-sized field with endzones. Two opposing teams (made up of 7 players each) line up on opposite endzones to start a point. A player from Team A throws the disc as far as possible toward Team B. A player from Team B picks up the disc, and Team B begins to work the disc down the field–passing the disc between players–toward the opposing endzone to try to score a point.

The way to score a point in Ultimate is to complete a pass from a player outside the endzone to a player inside the endone. There is no way to score by running the disc in. Players are not allowed to run with the disc. Once a player catches the disc from a teammate, he/she must stop running and establish a pivot foot in order to pass the disc to a teammate.

SPIRIT OF THE GAME

"Ultimate relies on a spirit of sportspersonship which places the responsibility for fair play on the individual. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of the bond of mutual respect between players. And never with an intention to abuse the agreed-upon rules of the game, or destroy the pure joy of play . . . Remember, no set of rules can replace players' respect for one another and the Spirit of the Game . . . "
