Web-based Student Presentations

Dr. Barbara Nightingale, Professor of English, requires her Honors ENC 1102 (Introduction to Literature) students to work in teams in order to create a web-based presentation exploring notable authors. Dr. Nightingale uses the Presentation Tool in WebCT to create this alternative assessment strategy.

One of her course assignments is to have the students work with a partner in order to create a website that explores authors. Following her guidelines, the students use Netscape Composer to create the website. The assignment is found on the Course Homepage and incorporated into a content module:

Once students have completed the project, students upload the website using the Presentation Tool within WebCT. Dr. Nightingale has created the team list and students can upload their presentations by following the directions within the Presentation Tool. The group presentation can be viewed by clicking on the title of the project found in the Description column.
