and Course Preview Page in SoftChalk Looking for a way to "chunk" or break up her lengthy syllabus, Dr. Treptow used a software package called "SoftChalk" to create professional looking templates that allowed her to section off her syllabus. In her Principles of Supervision (MNA 2345) course, Dr. Treptow placed a Syllabus Folder on her course homepage.
Within
the Syllabus Folder, using SoftChalk, she created sections of the
syllabus. Dr. Treptow wanted to make content and information easier
to find for her students. By chunking the syllabus, her students
can find what they need quicker and more efficiently. She
especially likes the idea of the Course Schedule being chunked since
that is one part of the syllabus that all of her students use the
most. Using a "sidebar" feature in SoftChalk, students
can click on the weekly section without scrolling down the entire
length of the Course Schedule to find what assignments and activities
are due. Dr. Treptow also used SoftChalk to create the Course Information Page. Instead of chunking the content (because it is not as lengthy as the Syllabus), she created a professional and clean looking Course Preview Page for her course.
